16 students from Sarajevo Third High School in Bosnia and Herzegovina visited WASAKE Sake Experience!

The students from Sarajevo Third High School, which has a sister school relationship with Kaichi Nihonbashi Gakuen Junior & Senior High School, visited to learn about Japanese culture, with the aim of deepening their understanding of Japan through the exploration of sake and the sake brewing process.

They also had the chance to try non-alcoholic products, such as sweet sake and gelato, and left very satisfied.

In November 2024, the sake experience facility WASAKE in Asakusa will kick off its first collaboration with Shirataki Sake Brewery, featuring the theme 'Sake Brewery of the Month.

Collaboration Overview

WASAKE and Shirataki Sake Brewery will collaborate on the following initiatives, with the collaboration period expected to last until the end of December:

  • In addition to the flagship sake varieties such as Jozen Mizuno Gotoshi and Minatoya Tōsuke, we will offer a total of six sake varieties, including two limited-edition Shirataki SEVEN sakes (Shirataki SEVEN Junmai Daiginjo 25% and Shirataki SEVEN Junmai Daiginjo Shizuku). Currently, WASAKE is the only place in Tokyo offering Shirataki SEVEN.
  • For the tasting experience, we will use Shirataki Sake Brewery’s brewing water for the “Green Tea / Coffee Experience brewed with sake brewing water.”
  • In the WASAKE facility, we will display Shirataki Sake Brewery’s products and other related decorations in the exhibition spaces.
  • During the Grand Opening event on November 2nd at 12:00 PM, we will conduct the ceremonial sake barrel opening with Shirataki Sake Brewery and offer Jozen Mizuno Gotoshi as celebratory sake.
  • Additionally, we plan to hold other collaboration events with Shirataki Sake Brewery throughout the period.


Shirataki Sake Brewery Overview

Shirataki Sake Brewery, located in Echigo-Yuzawa, Niigata, was founded by the first owner, Minatoya Tōsuke, in the late Edo period in 1855 (Ansei 2). The brewery is known for using abundant snowmelt water from the heavy snowfall area, which is a distinctive feature. This commitment is reflected in their corporate message, "With water, moving forward."
